I lead co-creative, Design Thinking driven, programs to help Public Sector and nonprofit organizations build equitable and resilient communities. My driving focus is to bring your stakeholders – constituents, employees, volunteers, customers, service recipients, and others - together to co-create and co-own solutions. I help governments and nonprofits bridge gaps and discover opportunities and issues; ideate for the future; and plan implementable roadmaps.

Several examples of projects I have led include

  • Working with a metro area’s major HIV fundraiser to conduct an external evaluation based on community perceptions of the organization and develop a three-year roadmap with leadership to improve equitable engagement and grow fundraising.

  • Leading engagement and design with nine state social service agencies to develop a single integrated contact center seamlessly serving over one million constituents.

  • Collaborative redesign of the workflow of a state child welfare intake hotline.

  • Collaborating with 50 nonprofits to design a $19 million COVID recovery grant program.

  • Leveraging 15 focus groups, surveys, and interviews with 150 team members to design a training and promotion program tailored to staff needs at an emergency management agency.

  • Designing and leading a strategy exercise for a United Nations partnership with global private sector leaders to determine its focus among many actors in the global disaster risk reduction space.

Because co-design and co-ownership with people who programs serve is critical to equity and resilience, I work with clients to meet communities where they are. Typically instead of asking communities to come to the project team, I encourage clients to think about how we can partner with organizations already in contact with communities, using community-driven approaches to reach people in their spaces and on their schedules.

Applying my academic training, I lead projects based on sound principles of qualitative research and I collaborate with clients and communities to produce rigorous and defensible outputs. I am experienced in both international and domestic contexts.

I’m a consultant with 15 years of experience, plus five more serving in government roles as a child welfare investigator and HR investigator. I’m a former Deloitte and Accenture Public Sector consultant and have led Design Thinking driven collaborations with multiple government agencies, nonprofits, and even a United Nations partnership with the private sector. My focus in graduate school was social vulnerability and how communities can improve their resilience - this drives my work daily helping organizations hear all of their constituents’ voices and working toward equitable, co-owned outcomes.
